This is what I was going to say. He throws like Tebow and that was the main problem for him.

And, he couldn't ease up on short routes. He'd throw balls through his receivers hands.

The next year? He says "I like this Heath Miller..Tight End Virginia..."

Uh, rest is history lol.
in all seriousness.. your dad SHOULD work in the scouting team or even the front office. he'd be the wize old man advising on the spot-on picks!

Michael's my...middle name

I hope Dwyer pans out. That was one of my dads boiz and always liked Dwyer. Glad Porter's back, too. One of my Dad's favorite players from the 2000 era.

Aside from the notorious Tebow, wasn't that also the knock on Vince Young?

Or was his throwing motion critique different?

They say the same thing about Aaron Rodgers (not to compare, merely to say).

---

Leftwich is one of those QB's who was out of his era. He was about 5-10 years too late for the heyday of the 'pocket passer' and if he had been born sooner (or magically transported back in time) he probably would not have been groomed as a QB.

Considering the rate of failure (or lackluster performance compared to expectations) of the 'big QB's' over the years (McGwire, George, Leaf, Couch, Daunte, Leftwich, JaMarcus, Campbell, VY, Freeman...), it only magnifies just how rare and talented someone like Big Ben (or Peyton and his 6'5" frame) is.

So even if one can statistically argue that BR7's stats aren't as good as peers (), one can't ignore how he's one of few QBs over a certain height to have produced so well.

Arbitrary point? Perhaps. But the QB height fetish is a real thing and QBs like Big Ben are the reason why.
