Killer Joe with Matthew McCaugnahey.

WTF???

Lol... that was definitely strange.

I have always loved the beautiful Gina gershon. I'd take her out for KFC any day.

this is definitely a movie you gotta think about who you are recommending it to.

I watched "I Spit on your Grave." (2010)

Oh my.

Not to spoil anything, but if you HAD to choose, which of the four deaths would you opt for?

(I can NOT pick. Too horrid.)

I just watched A Field in England. The best way to explain it is that it is a bit like Jacobs Ladder meets The Wicker Man, and then teams up with Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas, but set in The English Civil War, and filmed in black and white.

It is a psychological and psychedelic WTF film, based partly on 17th century superstitions involving fairies, magic mushrooms, etc.

Yep - life is good for Leo

This from Tina Fey in her intro for Leo at the Golden Globes show last night

"And now, like a supermodel's vagina, let's all give a warm welcome to Leonardo DiCaprio," Fey said.

Primer

Anyone seen it? Your thoughts, please.

I just saw it… after being recommended to me a decade ago. And now, I am sort of obsessing on it.

Absolutely!!!

SPOILER
Was Aaron calling himself, to apologize for basically screwing that "second Aaron's" (the one in the hood) life? Or, was he calling Abe, to apologize fir basically screwing everything up?

Here's as simple as I understand it:

Aaron went back, called himself to go to the failsafe.
That second Aaron went back in Abe's failsafe, creating a third Aaron.
Abe's failsafe was now behind Aaron's.
Abe tried to go back & reset all the wrong that Aaron had done, but Aaron was always a few minutes ahead of Abe's failsafe.
Aaron wanted to be the hero.
Rachel still dies (eventually).
The second Abe tells the third Aaron to go away.
The "prime" Abe & Aaron are oblivious... and blissfully unaware.
The second Aaron disappeared (did he leave or simply vanish?).
The third Aaron is trying to go back in time; hence, the warehouse full of time machines.

Right?

Very good.

One of those that requires multiple views.

Other 'indie' (legit 'indie', not 'Hollywood Indie') movies that are interesting and worth a view (although not the mind f*ck of Primer): Cube and Exam.

I've never seen Primer, but it's interesting you bring up Cube. I just saw Fermat's Room which reminded me of Cube.

If you love the excitement of math combined with a shrinking room you'll love Fermat's Room. It's in Spanish though, so you'll have to be able to read subtitles quickly.

Also, fairly related to movies and for those that don't know and have access...

Turner Classic Movies (TCM) is showing nothing but Academy Award nominated films all this month (sorry for the late prompt; it didn't occur to me to post anything here).

It's a good time to catch some great older stuff. I've spent the last few weeks watching the likes of All Quiet on the Western Front, Gone With the Wind, The Lion in Winter, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, A Place in the Sun and Tom Jones (coincidentally, I've now seen 41.92% of all BP nominees and 44.17% of all Best Screenplay noms!).

It's a good time to be a film nut!
