There are alot of different options this draft, alot of good talent and very deep from what I am reading. I honestly think FA is going to make or break this next season for us as we have immediate needs at CB, OLB (possibly), ILB and DL. If we fill any of those in FA with a very good starter, then our draft will flow accordingly. For instance, if we pick up a tall WR in FA (not likely, but just an example) then we will obviously will not be drafting a WR early, etc.

If Trent Murphy is sitting there when we draft in the 2nd...do not hesitate at all...put the card in right away!!! In 2013, Murphy totaled 15 sacks, 24.5 tackles for a loss, 62 tackles, six passes batted, one forced fumble and an interception returned 30 yards for a touchdown!

You're probably right: they'd have no starter currently on the roster, and this, they'd HAVE to start a rookie.

But, my gut says that they're "done" with Woodley.

I love that dude. Bucannon is my favorite DB, but Murphy is my favorite OLB... or, is he a DE?

Mayock made the Vrabel comparison today, but in a positive way. I think that Murphy's upside is higher than Vrabel's by a considerable margin, but hey, he's white too!

If they don't resign Worilds, Woodley is only getting cut if Barr or Mack falls into our lap. There is NO WAY they are going to roll out Jones and a rookie that isn't Clowney, Barr, or Mack.

The whole reason the "Woodley getting cut" thing is even a possibility is to re-sign Worilds. As disappointing as Woodley has been lately, there is really no reason at all to cut him if that's not the case. Even if we wait until June 1 we're paying him the same as if he stayed here, the only real reason he'd be cut would be for Worilds to play because he'd be wasted on the bench, but there's a 90% chance Woodley would still start over any rookie we draft.

If we draft a new OLB, he won't be ready to contribute this year anyway AND he won't really count much against the cap at all. That means Woodley or Worilds stays.

Bryce Paup likes this post.

Joking aside, the dude is a splash play waiting to happen. Think Greg Lloyd... wait... I meant JJ Watt. LOL

If we get Khalil Mack I'm going to weep tears of joy. His 4.62 forty is going to prevent this from happening, though. Anthony Barr, on the other hand, is a realistic choice. He didn't have a great combine and he's only been an OLB for a couple of years now. I've said he might drop and he may indeed drop.

He didn't have a great combine, either, which may push him down boards too. He may indeed have been a late second/early third round pick, but he may be a mid fourth now. I'd take him in the mid fourth.

I'm starting to think they're going OLB in the draft. (No Worilds, no Woodley)

Murphy was a R1 possibility (I saw him going to San Fran), and I think that his career will outweigh his combine. I see him going R2.
