Reynolds in R4??? I do not see him lasting that long.

I completely agree with R1&R2, and the thinking behind R3 & R4: NT NiX, OLB Murphy, followed by a FS & a CB.

Here are my thoughts:
R1: NT Nix
R2: OLB Murphy
R3 (comp): S Deone Bucannon (or Ed Reynolds)
R4: CB Terrance Mitchell
R5: CB Bene Benwikere
R5 (comp): DE Will Clarke
R6: CB, Aaron Colvin
R7: P

Mitchell never gets burned. Benwikere is physical (he lit people up in the East-West Shrine Game). Clarke was the best player at the E-W Shrine Game. And, Colvin would be a re-hab project.

No big WR for Ben ???? Ben is not happy with you ! he will officially not resign and go to Arizona !!!

Who needs him??? We have Landry Jones.

Really though, he's working out with Moye & Brown (& Wheaton). I think one (or both) of those WRs will pan out as the red-zone threat that BB has been pining for.

Oh , teeg , your optimism is truly eternal.
I do not share the same faith in them as you. Jb didn't dress and Moye did... however all though tall , he is built like a stick figure. I think our franchise Qb expects a little more .
who knows maybe Moye eats his wheaties and lifts like a gym rat !

As it is right now, it's two of the three... and, my thinking is that Cortez & Gay (& Ike) can be just as good as Ike & Gay (& Cortez) was. Add two young CBs, and hope that they can start in the dime, and supplant Gay next year.

NOTE: If Ike comes back for cheap, then I'm almost positive that they will wait until R4 for a CB.
Even if Ike does come back, there's no depth if anyone were to be injured. If Cortez goes down, Ike goes right back into the starting role and once again we're in the same position as last year.

We absolutely need talent and depth at OLB/NT, but I think a first or second round pick on a CB is a necessity at this point. I haven't seen a lack of depth/talent on our team like this in a long, long time in a specific area. At Safety we have Shamarko, but after him is Will Allen and Robert Golden. Neither of those names inspire confidence.

I understand, and even up to a point agree with your idea, but I'm more anxious/nervous about our secondary than you are. In my mind, two of our top three picks have to be spent on our secondary. In the end, four of our top six, leaving room for a receiver/olb/nt to be picked somewhere.

I still have absolutely no idea why Brown wasn't on our roster. Everything I saw in the preseason led me to believe he was the better receiver over Moye. I think he could be a diamond in the rough for our team, he just needs the opportunity.

Moye last year had a huge drop in the endzone. Chalk it up to inexperience and youth, but a lost TD is a lost TD.

thanks

Here's some more optimism: some receivers need a few years to develop. Ward was merely "alright" his first year, and Swann absolutely sucked. Yancey Thigpen and Wes Welker did not last long with their original teams.

Moye and/or Brown have shown me enough that they could be the red-zone threat that will put this offense over the edge.

I say red-zone threat, because that is where the offense stalls. They are great between the 20s, with those quick, elusive 5'10" WRs... but, when the field shortens, they need a tall WR who can battle for jump balls and/or catch fade routes.

AB & Wheaton will get the offense "to" the red-zone. Moye & Brown will score the TDs.

I hear you... but, let's assume that Worilds is gone (almost a given) and that Woodley is injured (assuredly a given). That means the LOLB is... uh... hmmm... who is it???

In other words&, while the secondary could lose Cortez, and be stuck with Ike & Gay... the OLB position is essentially one Woodley pulled hamstring away for starting (insert name here) at OLB.

CB then OLB... OLB then CB... both areas are areas of major concern.

(As is NT. )

Defensive end is thin this draft. I wouldn't be surprised if that position was addressed earlier than Nt. But I am more concerned about secondary too. Not that I'm not concerned about the entire defense. But our dbs scare me more fan McClendon .

If we don't resign Worilds all bets are off. BARR MAYBE THE SELECTION.

Duh, Anthony Barr.

No, I get you though. That's a scary proposition. Cris Carter is just... yikes.

Quarles or Carrethers will be there in the fourth round. NT solved. Well, not solved - properly bandaided?

Okay, compromise.

1. Dennard
2. Murphy
3. (Compensatory) Telvin Smith
4. Ryan Carrethers
