Ok draft nuts and college gurus.....what chance do you give to former Ohio State Buckeye Mike Kudla on making the team as an OLB?

Starting? Slim to none. 3rd string maybe, but definately believe the guy makes it to special teams, replacing Keisel.

Kudla played out of position at DE with OSU,.... so as to have the best players on the field at one time. The kids a steal,...and will make the squad just on the strength of special teams. To be honest,.... simply based on upside,.....i'd go with him over Frazier NOW. Like Peezy and B-Dazzle (Haggans),....he's a perfect example of the "Tweener's" that we groom to be all pro caliber starters. Kirschke may very well be the odd man out to make room. I just don't see Kudla ending up practice squad.

i think he makes the team too. but like you said it means giving up on frasier or kirchke.
i believe kirchke makes the vet minimum which is around $760,000 and i think kudla will get $230,000. economics may spell the end for kirchke. remember last year when we let go our veteran longsnapper for a rookie for the same reason (schneck?). didnt hurt us too bad as we won the sb without much dropoff from the longsnapper position. |

he should make the team and i think he will. It is sick how strong he is. He could definetly play some specials for us. He would be an absolute monster coming dow nthe field on kickoff.

My sentiments exactly Hip. It's give and take,....you have to make decisions based on the present,...but always cognizant of the future.

I feel you Hip,..we took a loss on Vrabel. But sometimes you have more quality players than roster spot's,... so we did what we thought was right at the time. I don't think that's the case now though. I'm in favor of keeping Harrison, Kriewaldt and Wallace (based on the fact that he's an unknown quantity),....but cat's like Frazier, Kirschke, Arnold Harrison, Rodney Bailey are more likely to get 86'd in favor of some players with considerably more potential and youth (in some cases). And i can live with that,...i hope we make those moves. I want a NEW Steeler Dynasty. "Hail Caesar,......Hail the Black and Gold" |
