so even at 1 in 3, do steelers ultimately get picked for hard nox? would they bring more money/ publicity/ "DRAMA" to the nfl than the other two candidate teams?

if they think viewers would rather see the inner workings of the winningest team in football in the past 40+ years, then yea - they are certainly one of the candidates because of the franchise's popularity

It is down to New York and Pittsburgh IMO - New York has the sheer numbers and city appeal whereas Pittsburgh has the history

(side note, how in the sweet hell is Cutler get someone like that?)

I very much doubt the NFL is concerned about having a former Hills star on when they could have the most storied franchise in NFL history on the show. Weighing it out, the Steelers would bring it likely double what the Bears would. For that reason, there's no way they can pass up on having Mike and co. on it.
Eh, Ben's wife could giver her a run for her money. Outside of it being a storied franchise, and maybe I'm biased - Pittsburgh has a lot more personalities they can follow, both WTR to players, coaches, ownership, local media personalities

Think about it
Tomlin
Lebeau
Haley
Munchak
Ben
Troy
Brown
Rooneys
Tunch and Wolf
Eddy B

Imagine them opening it up with the disappointments of the last 2 seasons and then panning over the 6 trophy showcase. Pouncey returning from injury, our free agent signings - there is a lot to draw viewers in the more I think about it

from a success standpoint - I don't want the Steelers to do it

from a success standpoint - I want the Steelers to do it, win #7 in the process, and throw up a big F-U to Goodell and the rest of the NFL

from a fanboy standpoint, I'd watch it and rewatch it - I know, lame

That's another really good point. Back to back 8-8 seasons with Tomlin and Roethlisberger would bring in viewers as to how they would handle it. I think it's also important to note that Hard Knocks ends after the final preseason game. Our first game is against our oldest rival in Cleveland.

There are a lot of story lines here that make it too hard for the NFL to pass up on filming the Steelers. Plus, as Tony alluded to, Tomlin is more charismatic than Trestman and Coughlin.

It's going to be us. Hey, at least it'll make for some good summer tv.

I feel the same way.

From a fans standpoint I'd love to watch the steelers on hard knocks

Then again I don't want any distractions for the steelers and the hard knocks is just that.

If it happens I'll watch and be excited but worry how it will affect the youth of the team.

If it doesn't happen I'll still watch whoever it is and be excited the steelers don't have the distraction.

Option B is better.

Sounds like the NFL is covering their ass as someone leaked the list.

I would love AND hate this! if that makes any sense. I love Hard Knocks but don't think I want the Steelers on there. this will sound weird but the way James Harrison acted last year on the show is what I would expect of every Steeler and the organization in terms on being on there!!!!!! And that I would love.
