We're not sure. He has versatility and can play every position, it's just finding where he excels. As Matt pointed out, he could be our third Guard.

Now what is needed is some time in the weight room. I like the pick. From what I have read he is described as an intelligent person. I think Munchak will do a fine job with him.

that is good because I believe Adams and Gilbert only have a 160 IQ collectively.

Reminds me of when Bill Cowher drafted Chris Kemoeatu in 2005.

Me too. At first I don't like it. Mainly because I really think the OL depth is adequate and I really want them to pick one more CB or OLB in the fifth. But if he turns out to be another Beachum, that's great value.

After the first few rounds, I start to learn that we shouldn't care much about the position team picks. As long as they turns out to be a solid contributor to the team, it's a home run pick.

5 reasons to like Wesley Johnson

Posted May 10, 2014
By Mike Prisuta

Versatility is a strength of Wesley Johnson, an offensive lineman from Vanderbilt

Why you should be excited about Wesley Johnson:

* He started a school-record 51 games at Vanderbilt.

* He has started at tackle, guard and center. “He’s not only a guy who can play all three positions, he’s a guy who has played all three positions,” Steelers offensive line coach Mike Munchak assessed.

* At 6-foot-5 and 297 pounds Johnson has the necessary size, but he’s also agile enough and athletic enough to fit the mold of the more mobile offensive linemen the Steelers have been seeking as they incorporate the outside-zone blocking scheme.

* He was a First-Team All-SEC selection at left tackle in 2013.

* Johnson blocked No. 1 overall pick Jadeveon Clowney effectively in Vanderbilt’s most recent game against South Carolina. “He did very well, actually,” Munchak said. “He plays with confidence. He had a nice, solid game against Clowney.”

What I like most is reading reports stating his high intelligence. I believe that will go along well with Munchak's system. I like this pick. Great value, IMO.
