Default 8/9 Steelers Practice Report

8/9 Steelers Practice Report
Luke Nicholson

I have some other obligations to attend to tonight, so I will not be offering my usual in depth report. The highlights of tonight?s practice include Ben Roethlisberger and Charlie Batch switching uniforms in the locker room before practice to fool the unsuspecting fans. Their gag worked successfully. Batch and center Marvin Philip began working together on a regular basis and things started rocky, as Batch?s feet got entangled with Philip?s early in practice. Batch, however, quickly picked himself off the ground and threw a strike to Santonio Holmes. Both Willie Reid and Holmes made multiple acrobatic catches, drawing applause from the plethora of fans in attendance. Marvin Philip really impressed me in the pass rushing drill, displaying a nasty demeanor and manhandling every opponent he faced. James Harrison stood out on the defensive side of the ball in the same drill. Clint Kriewaldt picked off a Shane Boyd pass late in practice. My pictures of the Steelers? second and final evening practice at Camp Cowher can be viewed HERE.
