On that play Adams already had given him a late shove first, after the play, while he was still engaged w/ the TE, I believe.

I wouldn't mind seeing him go Willie Cologne on someone in the preseason though.

I agree with all of the Suisham comments. WTF are we doing paying a guy that cannot kick over 50 yards??? I get the accuracy point but man, kickers can be such huge weapons now that Suisham should have come at a relatively lower price.

* Jones is showing little to nothing. The Steelers are in trouble if Roethlisberger goes down. We haven't been able to say that since he entered the league.
What is he talking about? Batch and Leftwich weren't anything special.

I don't get the commitment to a bad place kicker. Is the new extra point distance still in his range? Yeah, I get that he doesn't miss very often when he is in his range, but no NFL kicker misses very often from what Suisham's range is. The difference that the other kickers give the option of an attempt at distances that Suisham has 0 chance from.

I think you do it once with some authority and show the opposition you are not to be fu@ked with.

Willie Cologne actually stole that move from Paco Rabanne.

That wasnt an excuse, the excuse was Troy was not in, he would have made the tackle, the excuse was Mitchell will need a few more practices and games to get his angles and timing down, the excuse was this is the first preseason game in which our 1st D stuffed the Giants in all but one play and this is the Giants 2nd game. If we are letting people breaks runs like this in the 3rd game then we can start worrying.

It's a limited sample size, but if I recall correctly, didn't Leftwich look better than Roethlisberger in 2008? QBR: 95.6 RAT: 104.3 vs. QBR: 42.1 RAT: 80.1

Also, remember when Ben was suspended the first 4 games in 2010? Leftwich was looking shit hot in preseason until his knee injury.

Maybe those were anamolies, but Leftwich was the best backup Ben Roethlisberger has ever had.

What good is a backup that can't stay healthy?
