Steeler fans.

Lets set out some targets for tonight.

What would you like to see from your team - is any recognised name other than Sean Morey under severe pressure for his place in the 53?

Is the final score totally irrelevant?

I think the Eagles have more to prove than the Champs so im thinking the eagles will come out on top in this one.

My wife is having a candle party, which means I have wee-one patrol. I might be able to squeeze in a few play watching moments but after the party, I get to chaffeur my oldest daughter to and fro (as I sit wondering can I get my daughter to bed on time and then get my wife to be the to driver?)!

Off the top of my head and to keep it short and simple.....

From the offense: The running game. I would like to see Duce put on a better showing tonight. I have no doubt that he's capable of doing so, but it's time to put the "rust" issue to rest and start showing more pop. Besides that, I feel our first string offense looks solid (Ben to Wilson in particular).

From the defense: Simple, getting off the field on 3rd downs. On the defensive side of the field I will be paying close attention Keisel, Clark, McFadden and Coke.

Notable/recognized players with jobs on the line other than Morey: Gardocki, Colclough and Morgan come to mind.

I've learned a long time ago that the final score is completely irrelevant when dealing with preaseason games. I don't care if we go 0-4 or 4-0.

I think the Morey/ Morgan debate will be important to watch..

I also think how our RB's besides parker play is important...

Watch for Siegler .. see if he can oupley Frazier and or Harrison to make team

and of course.. our corners ....

these are whom I will watching most

You think Staley will get a big run out?

Its kinda tough to judge the effectiveness of these 'big backs' - they operate best late in the game after they have worn down the opposing teams D - but I guess you can also see how he operates in the open field.

You expect to see Humes get much of a run out?

On the D side it will be interesting to see if the Steelers can rid themselves of that problem that bugged them last eyar - the getting off the field on 3rd and long situations.

I hadn't thought of Gardocki having his job under pressure, who is the other punter in the mix?

Thanks

Clark. I'm hoping he steps up his game in these next two outings. I still have high hopes for Clark and I still feel he can turn out to be a good/solid FS this season. Hopefully tonight he starts showing it.
I'm personally not too worried about our defensive backfield. They have never really been overly impressive in coverage, and they weren't last season either. The thing that makes the Steelers defense able to shut down the pass (or at least slow it down) is the pass rush. When the Steelers are bringing in their blitz packages, no one - not even Peyton Manning - can pass on them. Not to say that I don't care about the secondary, as I'll still be watching to see who should be out there starting, and who could be able to make a big impact at the DB position, but I'm more worried about watching guys like Keisel (whom I know you mentioned, I totally agree with your assesment on him), Aaron Smith, Clark Haggans, and Foote.

Mike Barr. I'm a big fan of Chris, and would like to see him stay, but I won't lose sleep over who is punting for us.
