Pretty much. NBC is of such poor quality anyway that shock value and controvery were going to be the only ways that they could pull in viewers. Sooner or later, Bettis will start to feel comfortable in his new role and he'll move away from being Ebersol's puppet and be himself. Until then, he's saying what Dick and the rest of the suits in New York want him to say to draw ratings for a terrible pre-game show.

He's got to do what his employer tells him to do,and if NBC tells him to make a contreversy about a certain subject,he has to.

That was exactly my point, Jeremy. It isn't out of the realm of possibility to think that quite possibly Jerome is attempting to come across differently than the two pissants he works alongside.

I think he's still suffereing from player's ego. Everytime a player retires and moves to the studio or booth, they suffer from it. Deion Sanders had it so bad, he went back to the NFL. It's something that fades in time and former players find their own voice and learn to curb their formerly massive egos.

Bettis isnt saying anything more than what everyone else who are not Steelers fans arent saying.... The short yardage and big back theory. It worked for us last year.. that wasnt enough in prior years with the Bus. Love him as a Steeler, but he is a commentator now and he isnt saying what anyone else isnt. Very few have us winning the division much less the Superbowl. Coach Cowher said something like , " we probably wern't the best team in football last year, but we were the best at the right time" Which is fine with me... each year i just actually hope we make the playoffs cause i hate sitting at home watching everyne else play and all the excitement and not being a part of it.

Will go liek this ... we win early, then will be " the Steelers didnt lose anything.. we lose early and everyone is going to say.. see you cant win without that bruisig back ect ect ... every SuperBowl team has to go through the media knocking them down a few notches cause everyone wants to see the team on top go down.. is just a fact.
