5 fumbles in 2 weeks - maybe Carson Palmer has PTSD?

I think it is more along the lines of a sophomore jinx. He played well in his rookie season and last year but not in the Super Bowl. Maybe the ol' jinx caught him a bit later than expected? I know he has been through much trauma this summer but maybe he is thinking too much and his brain is overwhelmed.

This bye week will do him some good.....too bad the Chargers lost today, now they will be taking their frustration out on him. Should be a good test of whether he is back yet or not.

That's it! A Jinx!!! lol this has got to be the dumbest thread yet. is this really what happens when we have 2 bad games? Man, what if we'd lost them by more than one score, one turnover. Get a grip dudes!

It is better than thinking it is PTSD since he isnt playing like the Big Ben we have been spoiled by since he began starting. Yeah he has had trauma but I'm not buying into the whole psychology of it or....I could just post about nothing and crack myself up?

I'm not ruling out that Ben could possibly be suffering from a little PTSD. I went through a somewhat similar surgery almost 5 years ago, though for different reasons. The physical trauma heals a lot faster than the emotional trauma after an accident/illness, as well as such a detailed and delicate surgery. It took almost 6 months for my inner healing to catch up with the outer healing. My self-confidence and self-esteem were almost non-existent and it took time to rebuild those very vital characteristics. I was a bit impatient with myself in wanting to get back to a "normal" life and it only set me back, so I sucked it up, re-learned the art of patience and worked very hard to get "balanced" again. In Ben's case, he is coming off of a great season where he became the youngest QB to win a SB trophy. Four months later, comes the motorcycle accident which almost took his young life and two months after that, he is stricken with appendicitis and yet another surgery and another setback. This young man has been through a helluva lot in a short period of time - if it didn't affect him mentally/emotionally, I wouldn't think he was even human. PTSD is a condition that you yourself have to work through. A lot of support from family and friends helps tremendously and Ben definitely has that support network in place. Admittedly, I was quite shocked that Ben played at all before the bye week. Yes, he was cleared by his doctors medically, but no medical expert can look inside of your head to see how you are going to be affected emotionally/mentally. I have no doubt that Ben will get where he needs to be, as he is a very driven young man. I am hoping this week off gave him the time he needs to find his balance and rediscover his self-confidence.
