A thread i can start without worry of someone already posting it. I'm wondering who all you think WON'T be in the black and gold next year, due to trades, cuts, holdouts, rehab, anything that could leave us without them for the regular season next year. Lets try and leave out people we're all fairly sure won't make the 53 team roster this year (ie Shaun Shuisham, Chris Collins)
My List, though probably not well thought out. 1. Lee Mays (all these young guys producing at camp, i'm not hearing much about ol' Lee) 2. Walter Rasby (we've got Miller for starter, Kranchick as long term backup, Tuman as Veteran/mentor) 3. Tyrone Carter* (I'd like to see us draft a FS early next draft, I dont like Chris Hope long term) 4. Matt Cushing (first we had him at TE, and then we didnt need TE's, so we moved him to FB where he'll fail to impress and be gone) 5. Tommy Maddox* ( What I'd like to see happen: St. Pierre pass up Batch on the depth chart, Batch to perform fairly well, and Maddox get traded.) *picks i'm most likely to get grief for. oh well. Your takes?

Batch is the odd man out IMO. tommy has a cap friendly deal, he knows the offense, and he can still teach Ben and BSP and be a mentor of what it takes to survive in this league. Batch is coming off major surgery and hasnt played a snap in almost 2 years.
We usually cut Matt Cushing at the end of camp, and something happens to bring him back mid season, so dont count him out totally yet. |

both batch and maddox are too old. i'd like to see frenchy st. pierre step it up and pass them both and then maybe draft another mobile athletic qb in next years draft possibly in the 3rd or 4th round. having someone that is mobile like ben as a backup would be great. Last year it was nice having maddox to tutor ben, but this year i think ben is to the point where he doesnt need tutoring.
i agree with all the others. maybe logan is let go if we keep hope and draft another FS. |

BSP has to really step up his game in order to pass Tommy Gun on the depth chart. His experience alone will keep him there as #2 atleast for this year yet, IMO.

yeah it is a bit of a stretch for frenchy to pass maddox and batch. i'd just like to see some younger blood backing ben up.

Mays, Alonzo JKackson, Rasby. FA losses might be El, and Hampton, hope not. I'd like us to keep Hampton.

Draft a "Backup" qb in the 3rd or 4th round...NEVER!!! I agree with the comment that batch is the odd man out. I think St. Pierre is an adequate 3rd qb right now, with maddox ahead of him. The rest of that list of five is kinda simple...I mean Rasby, Carter, Cushing, and even Mays arent huge contributors. Cushing should be gone by default when Miller was chosen (his FB help is the only thing that might keep him around), Cater was a late season acquitions and could make the team this year, it all depends on how well Hope and Logan solidify their spots, Rasby....I think they'll rely on Tuman for the Veteran TE and keep Kranchick because of his upside.
