This is tenantive but here's how i see the top 15 picks panning out. I will address the second half after the playoffs.
1) Raiders: Calvin Johnson WR Georgia tech (Al Davis will not be sold on any of this years top Qb's with a pick this high) 2) Lions: Joe Thomas OT Wisconsin (need to get back to being able to run the ball,...will look for Drew Stanton perhaps in the 2nd) 3) Browns: Troy Smith Qb Ohio State (Pick will suprise many outside of scouts and insiders, but smith is THE best Qb available regardless of height. Could have immediate impact on offense) 4) Bucs: Amobi Okoye DT Louisville (Bucs are very thin up front with the loss of Mcfarland and likely departure of Rice. And Okoye's ability and intelligence have many regarding him as the best D-lineman of the Draft) 5) Cardinals: Justin Blaylock OT/OG Texas (With Thomas off of the board this is a no brainer. Blaylock is a "Road Grader" with the athleticism to play Guard or Tackle) 6) Redskins: Alan Branch DT Michigan (they are in shambles up front) 7) Vikings: Dwayne Jarrett WR USC (They are thin at receiver and DJ is the 1b receiver of his class) 8) Texans: Reggie Nelson S Florida ( Need safety help terribly. And though I regard Landry as the best DB let alone safety,.. the Texans will probably become enamored with Nelson's 40 time and "brain fart") 9) Dolphins: Paul Posluzny LB Penn State (Need to inject some impact youth to aging defensive unit,....Pos would be an almost perfect fit) 10) Falcons: Tedd Ginn Jr WR Ohio State (Fan outcry and Blank's coddeling of Vick will make them attempt to get him more "weapons". Ginn although undersized,.. is VERY explosive. And could make Vick actually look like a QB) 11) 49ers : Marcus Mccauley CB Fresno State (Need help at corner and Mccauley will probably put up better numbers at the combine than Hall. Not to mention he's bigger and a california product) 12) Bills: Levi Brown (Bills need help on O-line and Brown is a "battle tested" mountain of a lineman) 13) Rams: Buster Davis lb FSU (Almost perfect fit for Rams. Davis is comparable to Jon Vilma) 14) Panthers: Marshawn Lynch RB Cal (Need consistencey in the ground game and Lynch may very well be this years "Laurence Maroney") 15) STEELERS: ADRIAN PETERSON rb Oklahoma (could be one of the biggest shocks of the Draft. Peterson dropping to us because of teams drafting for need and or slight concerns about his durability.) "Hail Caesar,........HAIL THE BLACK AND GOLD" |

Barring a horrible combine, JaMarcus Russell will be in the top 15.
And if Willis or Laurinitis is on the board, the Steelers should jump on it. Peezy's not getting any younger. |

wow czar....with all the teams that have moved to the 3-4,i'm suprised you wouldn't have Gains Adams /DE from clemson ,in your top 15. if he falls to 15 and the steelers don't snatch him...i'll probably bust up another tv. the guys an easy top 10 pick...

Without a doubt M.O.P Adams is a stud. I just think that the teams picking in the top 15 that require help "up front" would be better served by "run stoppers". I just don't see that in Adams as he's more of a "tweener". (As you stated) I was trying to picture the best fits for these teams based upon "priority" needs. Though some would argue that Adams has more upside than Okoye,..... from what i've seen Okoye seems as though he's physically and intelectually a little more "league ready" "Hail Caesar,.......HAIL THE BLACK AND GOLD" |
