As much as I hate to say this, we're really not as good as the patriots. If we were we wouldn't have been playing catch up, we wouldn't have needed a gift pass interference call to get us set up for the tying score.
What pains me as a Steelers fan is all the hype during the run up to a game like this, how the Steelers are trying to gain the kind of respect that NE gets all the time and the fact of the matter is that more often than not, we look hopelessly confused against them, not the other way around. We talk and talk about trying to confuse Brady by giving him different looks and disguising the coverage and look where that gets us, nowhere. He figures it all out by half time and then makes us look like chumps. We're simply never going to be considered an elite team on the same level as the Pats until we show the same calm, patient, and focused execution of a game plan the way they do. We're never going to have that respect until we beat them, and by "beat them", I mean in a good game, where they don't kill themselves. |
