Fri, 9 Mar 2007 20:24:13 -0800 John Clayton, of ESPN.com, reports Denver Broncos WR Rod Smith has agreed to restructure his contract and take a $5 million paycut. Smith reduced his salary from $5.5 million to $1.5 million and did not take his $1 million roster bonus. He also reduced his 2008 base salary from $6.5 million to $1.5 million. Guess Rod wants to retire as a bronco and this restructure will help him stay there. Rod is a stand up guy, like what he has done in his career, and for Denver. HoF in my book. |
