Mon, 12 Mar 2007 07:37:07 -0800 The Associated Press reports Jacksonville Jaguars WR Charles Sharon was charged with grand theft of a firearm and carrying a concealed firearm after Tampa authorities found a handgun under the seat of his sport utility vehicle during a drug-related search Saturday, March 10. Sharon and a companion were arrested after a police officer noticed the odor of marijuana coming from his vehicle, according to a police report. A search of the vehicle turned up a Glock Model 27 handgun under the driver's seat that had been reported stolen from a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms agent in Putnam County last year, the report said. Sharon was released Sunday, March 11, after paying a $4,000 bond. Sharon is the fourth Jaguars player to be arrested since the start of the 2006 season. |
