If you like kielbassa (personally, I don't, but I make this for Steelers parties), here's a great recipe for Pittsburgh Kielbasa which is fast and very easy!
One pound kielbasa, sliced into 1/2-inch coins One can (12 ounces) Iron City Beer One jar chili sauce (I use Heinz - what else? LOL!) One small can (8 ounces) crushed pineapple, drained 3/4 cup brown sugar Kielbasa: Pour beer into a large skillet. Bring to a simmer and add kielbasa pieces. Cook sausage for three minutes per side. Drain. Serve warm with dipping sauce. Dipping Sauce: Mix the chili sauce, crushed pineapple and brown sugar in a small saucepan.

Here's a Pittsburgh favorite! Again - very simple to make and a crowd pleaser!
Haluski 1 head cabbage chopped into strips 2 medium onions coarsely chopped 1 1/2 cup butter - may need more 1 package cooked medium noodles Salt, pepper and garlic powder to taste Saute the chopped onions in a very large skillet using 1 cup of the butter. Add cabbage and more butter and saute until the onion and cabbage are soft- add the noodles and more butter if needed, mix together well making sure the butter has evenly coated everything. Season with salt, garlic powder and pepper to taste.

HTG that sounds so good, and I had kielbasa and rice for dinner tonight.
Corned beef and hash is popular any place with an Irish history like Pittsburgh.

Italian Hot Sausage Sandwich - Pittsburgh Recipe
*2 tablespoons olive oil *2 tablespoons butter *1 large onion, sliced *1 green pepper, sliced *1 red pepper, sliced *2 cloves garlic, minced *2 pounds Italian hot sausage, cut into 6 inch lengths *2 cups marinara *1 14 oz can canned diced tomatoes, drained *Parsley *Basil *Salt and pepper to taste *8 corn dusted French Buns (I prefer a Mancini bun) Place a large stock pot over medium heat. Place in butter and olive oil and allow the butter to melt. Place the onions, peppers and garlic, and cook until the onions start to get soft (about 5-7 minutes). Place the sausage among the peppers and onions, and allow to brown on both sides. This will take about 10 - 12 minutes altogether. While the sausages are browning in the stock pot, in a small sauce pan pour the two cups of marinara over medium heat. In a food processor, pulse together the can of tomatoes, parsley and basil. Mix the pureed tomatoes with the marinara. Pour the tomato mixture over the sausages, and cover the stock pan. Lower the heat to medium low and allow to simmer for approximately one hour. Slice open the bun, add some sauce, peppers and onions, and add the sausage. Serves 8

This one is quick and easy...............
Primanti Bros. Style Capicolla Sandwich - Pittsburgh Recipe *1 demi-baguette (Again, I prefer Mancini bread) *1/2 lb of your favorite Deli Cuts, sliced (in my case - capicolla) *6 oz. French Fries, direct from the Fryer *3/4 cup cole slaw Make your french fries as per your favorite recipe. While the pototoes are frying, cut your baguette lengthwise. Place slices of deli meat on the bottom half of the bread. Scoop 1/4 of the cole slaw into the bread and spread over the top half of the sandwich. When the fries are done, place them on a paper towel to allow excess grease to drain. Salt. Place fries on sandwich and top with remaining cole slaw. Slice sandwich in half and serve.
