san fran knocked out #5 and #9 last year with michael robinson. it was a move i really hoped the steelers woulda made.
someone on this board has mentionned taking jeff samardzia. i think its a worthy gamble. but with charlie weis's patriot links and the amount of extra picks they got, i can almost guarantee if he ever plays in the nfl, he will be a patriot. this could be the year the steelers dont draft a qb. letting st pierre proved to be costly as he sold our playbook to the ravens.

lol. of course. i find few non steelers related articles (other than his) worthy of forcing this boards members to read. it is pretty easy to spot a kirwan article a mile away though, huh?

Yeah,...Pat is one of the most 'objective' and unbiased sportswriter's out there. And he more often than not,....has more of a feel for the draft than,....dare i say,...Mel 'Trebeck' Kiper. LOL |

from a 2nd rounder to jump to 15 makes me think kirwan has heard some inside info in the last week or 2, or hes convinced the steelers making a slow transition to the 4-3 is just a smokescreen. it does seem easiest to run a hybrid if we would just stick a player like harrell in there and take a lb off the field. it gives us more options rather than just shiftin kiesel to the olb, which we dont know will be a liability or not.

Which is very possible Tone. (Smokescreen in regards to a switch to a 4-3) And though i feel Tomlin in his heart would prefer to make the switch sooner as oppossed to later,....i think he will make an effort to respect coach Lebeau and his system and 'temper' himself.(so to speak) I'm also with you in regards to having more options than just simply 'shuffling' personel. But i don't think Harrell has done enough throughout his collegiate career or in his recent workouts to be taken as high as 15th. But,......if we were to trade down,..... |

I dont see us taking a DT in the first round unless Tomlin is definitely sold on changing to a 4-3 this year. Maybe in the middle rounds but not in the 1st.. I just dont see using Keisel at OLB ... sorry..
