There are parts of the 'Burgh where you don't go at night too. But that doesn't make the whole city a bad place.

Once again, I'm not stating it's a horrible city. I'm not stating the "whole city" is a bad place, I just don't see how it cracks the top ten. That is all.

I think it's more of an indication of how bad the rest of the country is. Here in Arizona, Tucson and Phoenix are violent places. Not a night goes by that the PD choppers aren't going around looking for someone or the other. A lot of those Southern cities people are moving too are garbage too. Atlanta and Birmingham are cess pools. Miami and Dallas are two of the most violent cities on the planet. When you look all around, Philly starts to look better and better.

I guess it's personal preference.

I can think of four other cities where I would rather live than Philly. Tampa Bay and San Diego being two of them. IMO, top ten for Philly is stretching it.

I hope you hold some kind of advanced degree. Otherwise you'll be working 80 hour weeks to live in San Diego.
