As the weather warms up,so will LaRoche.Remember,he has played in Atlanta his entire pro career where it's warm year-round.He isn't used to this cold weather shit.

As long as the pitching is doing ok, I'm not going to get too worked up about the offense.

as somebody who is a braves fan - thank you Pirates for helping us have the best bullpen in the MLB. Back to are winning ways and the games are exciting agian. the fan base is fired up - with gonzo, soriono, and the fat dude....
check out this link 97% of brave fans love the trade - plus we got a stud at double a playing catcher - well he is in the bigs right now becaue of an injury but i am hoping the braves move salty to 1st base.. What do you think of the LaRoche trade now? Vote in our poll The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Published on: 05/11/07 Former Braves first baseman Adam LaRoche is hitting .164 with 35 strikeouts in his first season with Pittsburgh after Atlanta traded him away for relief pitcher Mike Gonzalez. Gonzalez has pitched 12 1/3 scoreless innings in his past 13 Atlanta appearances to lower his ERA to a staff-best 1.17. Your Turn What do you think of the Braves' decision to trade Adam LaRoche for Mike Gonzalez now? This poll will accept one vote per hour from you. Thank you for your interest in this poll. Great move; Gonzalez has solidified the bullpen and LaRoche is struggling 93.66% 1552 Still a bad move; the Braves' first basemen aren't hitting and the bullpen would still be strong without Gonzalez 6.34% 105 I tell you what i when i was little my pops made sure i was pirate fan but how can you guys watch that franchise year in and year out? the nickname is appropriate - the pirates - because your owners are pirating all of the money from the franchise and pocketing it instead of reinvesting it. the braves payroll is only 80 million - but they invest very heavily in the minor league system and it pays off. |

I guess some "fans" in others cities completely stop watching their pro teams if they miss the playoffs one year out of sixteen.

Back when Braves were horrible, you couldn't find a Braves fan anywhere. Fulton County Stadium was as quiet as a tomb and had about as many people there. But now there are bandwagon fans all over the place. Personally, I'll always be a Pirates fan even though I'm never moving back to Pittsburgh. They're my team, it's as simple as that.

The Pirates seem to sniff out good talent, but they just can't hold onto players. There is no way they can compete at the level of some endless budget francises...
Pirate fans stick around for hopes of a day when we have the means to contend. That's what fan(atics) do. Just like the Pens, who now are going to have their shot... It also helps when you have the greatest francise in NFL history right next door
