Okay since we're all sitting her twiddling our thumbs or sitting on them - what movies have you seen this summer
In the theater: 300 On DVD: Flags of our Fathers HBO/Cinemax/Show/Stars or some other movie channel: The Break Up Lord of War (great flick starring Nicholas Cage - about gun suppliers - based off actual events) Fast and the Furious - Tokyo Drift Bad News Bears Over the Hedge Saving Private Ryan Tiny Heroes

In Theaters:
None. IMO, the theaters are a gamble these days. Hollywood has lost a step. Seems like the up and coming actors and actresses are nothing more than pretty faces with zero acting ability. On top of that, nothing has really caught my eye to the point where I would sit in a movie theater for an hour and a half to two hours. On DVD: "The Departed" (Loved it) "The Good Shepherd" (Liked it) "Flags of our Fathers" (Wasn't all that crazy about it) "Letters from Iwo Jima" (Did not like it) Also, I watched "Narc" last night on IFC. Very good and very underrated movie in my opinon. Ray Liotta was excellent.

none in the theater here either although i really wanna see the marvel movies: spiderman III, rise of the silver surfer, and ghostrider when it comes to dvd. i got suckered into seeing "the hills have eyes II" in the theater...
![]() i agree on "the departed" - excellent i just "glory road" again. ive been catching bits and pieces all week. its one i can watch over and over, just like "remember the titans." right now my daughter and i are watching "cars" although i think i like it more than her. i can watch that over and over too. if you liked "doc hollywood" with michael j fox, (which i did) its pretty much the exact same plot and movie, except with a cartoon racecar instead of a hotshot doctor as the main character.

I'm pretty much in consensus with most of the movies that have already been named. But from what i've seen so far (and i see everything),... 300 has been the only stand out at the theatre.
And the departed was 'The buisness' as far as DVD. I normally can't stomach Leonardo Defaggio for the most part. LOL (But he actually might have made me a fan with this performance) I will admit though that my guilty pleasure movie this summer will probably be Transformers. Hey,...my generation grew up on them, along with GI Joe,....whadda ya want from me here ?!! LOL |

I am also looking forward to seeing "The Fantastic Four" & "Harry Potter".....I could use my teenager as an excuse about Harry Potter, but I won't. I really like those films. |

I'll see your 'He Man' Artemis, and raise you a 'ThunderCats'. LOL (Ah yes,...those were different times,...simpler times) ![]() Fantastic Four looks as if it will be better than the first one. Though i will admit that when it comes to the 'Super hero' genre,...i'm looking far ahead to the release of the 'Dark Knight' Batman Joint. And even further down the line to the 'Flash' movie that they're supposedly working on with Ryan Reynolds ? Never really got into the Potter though. I can't sit through that much British accent,...unless it's a Guy Ritchie film. (Snatch or Lock Stock) LOL |

It flops back and forth a lot which drove me crazy but I thought overall it was a good movie. I liked the scene at the end when the old man apologized for not being a good father (like he thought he could have done better) and the son said you were a great dad (or something like that). It was good to hear the story, I'm thinking about getting the Letters from Iwo Jima but movie purchases are on hold right now.
