i think he left him in cause he knew he was gonna throw the game winning touchdown....to bad it was for the wrong team. i think he didn't start batch cause he doesn't like winning games all the time. he didn't go for teh field goal right away cause he wanted maddox to fumble and then throw the game winning touchdown. damn you cowher you suck in the clutch

Was wind a factor?

You hate to sit here and say ?a lot,? but a lot. If you ask Byron or the kickers, it was such an inconsistent wind at different levels. If you threw it up into the air it did one thing or if you threw it down on the ground it would do another thing. I?ve played here a long time and with the Giants at the Meadowlands, but it was the worst day of throwing into something that I?ve ever had.
The above is a quote from Steelers.com, Maddox quote after the game. What a joke. A short story for you that didn't know Ben before last year. Two or three years ago (not sure getting old) Big Ben was a college qb playing at Marshall during a awesome rain storm with high winds. He threw laser passes that night. Maddox gets a light breeze and tries to blame that for his performance.

After watching Pittsburgh sports tonite.. its apparent that Cowher was waiting for Tommy to "get hot" real quick, like he has in the past...a guy that has thrown 2 picks already, fumbled, taken sacks, and over/under thrown almost every play is not going to "get hot" anytime soon !!

Hmmm...I think we need to ask Maddox if that is why he made terrible decisions to throw it with 2,3, or 4 defenders around his intended receiver. Sure maybe the wind wasn't great, but I don't think that caused him to fumble and chase the ball instead of dropping right on top of it.

If Maddox can't put more pepper on the ball to get it through the wind, then we shouldn't have sent St. Pierre away considering the Dec. game last year.
