Steelers' Washington hopes to minimize 'mishaps'

To be honest, I'm not real comfortable with our WRs after Ward and Holmes. Wilson is too inconsistent, and seems to have trouble getting open. Washington would be great as a fith or sixth reciever. He has made some spectacular plays, but he too needs to be more consistent on the routine plays. Willie Reed, Dallas Baker??? Who knows! If Holmes or Ward goes down for an extended period of time with an injury, we're in trouble. I still would not mind seeing the Steelers offer a low risk contract to one of these vet receives still out there. Give somebody a shot to compete for a spot, and if it does not work out, they can cut him before the season starts, no harm, no foul. Somebody like Keenan McCardell, David Patten, or an Antonio Bryant. Of course, one of these guys would have to accept a low risk offer, and I'm not sure the ego of any of these guys would allow it.

If he stop's reading "Consistency: The Cedrick Wilson Story" I think he can develope into a solid #3 slot. Consistency, consistency, consistency. Eitherway Steel, I think "great" is definately stretching it.

If he reads a new consistency like the one of Hines Ward or makes his own, he'll be good.

yes i have the same opionion holmes and ward i love but washington and wilson i dont kno! wilson has never proved himself as a good reciever just an average we def. should look for an open vet. reciever for a low cost just for the time cuz if we lose holmes or ward likeu said were in trouble!

Hopefully the scenario holds true to this guy having alot of upside. I'd give this guy at least another year to see what he makes of it.

washington will no doubt be our #3 reciver he just needs to work his tail off in camp and have a great season. he is not far from being a good reciever in the NFL he just needs to works on his hands!
