Let's not forget something here: Hines, as you've all been saying, never based his game around speed. Neither did a great receiver you may have heard of: Jerry Rice. Now, Rice had the softest hands the game has ever seen, so I'm not comparing Ward to Rice in that way. But both of them could get separation from a receiver before they were five yards off the line. It's amazing to watch, really.

The thing that Rice had and Hines doesnt is height. But Hines makes up for that easily with his heart and determination. If the Steeelers were a bit more pass happy like the 49ers of the 80's Hines could be putting up major major numbers stricky because of his heart and athleticism.
