Chad Johnson should never be mentioned in front of Hines. HOFers demonstrate leadership, on the field & in the locker room. It's obvious there's no leadership in Cincy. Ward leads by example, a trait that sadly these days is only found in Canton.

I believe that L Tomlinson will make it in on the scoring TD's record, little less what he is gonna rack up in yardage and TD's in the rest of his career. Hines Ward cant get in the hall of fame on being the best blocking WR in the league, but the man has had several 1,000 yard seasons and a Super Bowl MVP on his resime. I would vote for him to get in..

If Hines can do the following the rest of his career,he should end up a HoFer:

Get about 900 yards recieving
Get about 7 touchdowns a season
Finish his career as a Pittsburgh Steeler

I feel this last thing is important because not many players stay with the same team thier entire career anymore.

Pretty decent list...as far as Bengals go, I would've liked to have seen Willie Anderson get some mention. If Chad has about 3-4 more years at his current pace, he should be on the bubble.

It'll be tough for Hines...he'll need about 4,000 more yards to break into the top 15 all-time...he'll need 4-5 more good years to get into serious conversation. Of course, the superbowl ring + MVP doesn't hurt...and maybe his blocking reputation will carry some weight.

Hines will get in if he stays healthy. Lynn Swann's numbers aren't HOF, but he played for a champion and contributed mightily towards those championships. The Benglas players will be held to a much higher standard then the Steelers because they don't play championship football. That's just the way it is.

of course this is always a good discussion topic. in this journalistic gem, pete prisco examines 45 players with 6 years or more in the league who could be on their way to the hall of fame. and with quips like this you just know it will be good:

Rodney Harrison, S, New England Patriots
Decision: On the bubble.
Some will say he should get in, but I think he's another who was just very good, but not great. Winning a Super Bowl with the Pats will help
.
Wow....what a freaking idiot!!!! I wouldnt waste time telling that knucklehead what a moron he is....Pete Prisco is the to football journalism ... what Milli Vanilli is to rock music
