Default Re: Aussie RL Plays on With Tooth Embedded In Head

The New Zealand all blacks looked awesome last night in the rugby against Australia. The Wallabies played extremely well but the All Black pack was dominant. They must now be short priced favourites to win the world cup. Daniel Carter their fly half was on fire with his kicking game.

South African rugby is in an interesting position after the South African Administration wanted to implement a quota system for black players. They wanted the world cup squad to contain 10 coloured players in the 30 man squad. The squad was picked last night with only six coloured players in the squad. Will be interesting to see what impact politics has in the lead up to the World Cup.

Rugby League has a six tackle rule. On the last tackle a team will either kick for the sidelines, kick for the ingoal area or take a risk and run the ball. Rugby league originated in the early 20th Century when the best players from the totally amateur rugby union code where signed to professional contracts to start the first Rugby League competition. Due to this split in the early 1900's there is a great deal of hatred between the two different codes of football. Now that Rugby union is totally professional revenge is being served up with some of the best League players being offered bigger contracts by the Union clubs. League has a salary cap whilst union does not.
