HUGE Bridge Collapse in Minneapolis

out here in Los Angeles, restaurants get graded A-F, they have to show the grade out the window.

after reading this, maybe they should do that for our bridges.

A federal database, however, showed the 40-year-old bridge had been rated as "structurally deficient" in 2005 and possibly in need of replacement, the Star Tribune reported citing the U.S. Department of Transportation's National Bridge Inventory.

The White House also confirmed the 2005 inspection. White House press secretary Tony Snow said the span rated 50 on a scale of 120 for structural stability.

Thankfully people in my area figured out that it is time to replace a bridge when it needs to be replaced.

Just hopefully the death count is no higher then the 4 reported.

As much as I hate to say it, I think with 30 people still missing the death count is going to increase

I've been following this story closely, as I have a friend who lives in a burb of Minneapolis, but who works in downtown Minny. I just sent him an email and asked him to let me know that he is safe.

My heart goes out to the victims and their families. What a tragedy. I can't fathom being on the Liberty Bridge which connects the South Hills with downtown Pittsburgh and having something of this magnitude happen.
