Default Detroit's Stanton out with Parker-like injury

Drew Stanton was just placed on the IR after experiencing knee inflamation a couple of days ago. Sounds awfully similar to W Pizzle's injury. Stanton had arthroscopic surgery to repair the "loose" stuff. Didn't Ben have arthroscopic the super bowl year and wasn't he back in 4 games. Also, wasn't hines out all of last year's preseason and was a question heading into the miami game. he played and had a solid game. hopefully parker will heal but even if he doesn't play in any pre-season games, I have a feeling he would be playing in the opener.

Its not the injury or the surgery that is keeping him out all season.

They placed him on the IR because its pointless to get a rookie QB back in week 4 or 5when they haven't thrown a ball (no preseason games), run the offense, and is unproven at the next level.

Instead, they are going to sit Stanton and keep the other two guys, (can't remember their names Orlovsky and someone else?) who have league experience on their roster

The next guy is JT O-Sullivan (ex-Saints, I think) - still, a second rounder is a pretty high pick to IR when you think they will be back a few weeks into the season.

After the Lions win those 10 games (minimum) they are going to need as much depth as possible going into the playoffs!

Suddenly, the Patriots are not simply great; they're compelling, fascinating, appearing to be almighty and a touch lawless.
The Patriots didn't bother with swagger to start this NFL season; they went straight to defiant. Either you're one of them or you're about to get crushed.

I guess Detroit is obsessed with Michigan State Spartans? Maybe Some Wolverines will help.
