They suck here in NY as well. I was crossing the street in front of my apartment complex one time. An SUV coming down the road on my left stopped for me, and I started to cross. In the entrance to the parking lot on the other side of this street sat a car. Facing out, no blinkers, no indication at all that it was going to move. As I cross the middle line, the car peels out with a left turn at about 60 mph. We have a large sign in the middle of the road that says "Stop for Pedestrians," and people ignore it. Hell, I've had cops not stop when I'm crossing the road.

And yet the state of New York will not let me have my license (I have hydrocephalus, a form of cerebral palsy. And no, it's not contagious). It took me an entire summer just to get my permit, because the DMV kept "losing" the paperwork.

I could give you a whole list of things that piss me off that have to do with people's attitude towards me. Instead, I'll give you something else that pisses me off: the next person to tell me that Pink Floyd and everyone who listens to them are stoners is going to get a copy of Nick Schaffner's Saucerful of Secrets: The Pink Floyd Odyssey upside the head. Although I'm sure Nick Mason's book would hurt more. Schaffner's book's a great one, by the by.

I've also been told that Pink Floyd is goth, which...what the hell, you guys.

Pittsburgh is actually pretty decent. But, if you drive south, say to Kentucky or the Carolina's, people are so much more laid back on the road, and polite. It has to be a cultural thing. But I have driven in LA, Chicago and NYC. Trust me when I say that Michigan is one of the worst.

Maybe you should go on tour around the country and explain to groups of teenagers these two points. I ask two things of my older children - respect and obey. Respect the fact that I am older and know more than you do and have seen more than probably 98% of the teenage population. Obey when you are asked do something. There's one of two reasons why a parent asks a child to do something - 1) to help out around the house or 2) to make them learn how to do things on their own so they know how to do it later in life.

While I agree, that I never really understood why I had to do certain jobs as a child in my parent's household, I obeyed and respected my parents. Mostly because my father told me if I disrespected his wife (which yes was my mother) we would walk out back and only one of us would walk back in.

But I digress, SCM, if you are even close to the levelheadedness that you proclaim, then you could do those other kids a huge favor if you just shared your message with them.

For those of you who think driving is bad in the states, believe me YOU GUYS HAVEN'T SEEN ANYTHING YET. Driving here in Mongolia sucks big time. Particularly in the capital it sucks worse. I've drove in quite many states when I was in the US so I know. Though I think Chicago was the worst, out of the states I've been when it comes to driving.

It wasn't like this 8 years ago in here. Now many of these a-holes don't know nothing about DRIVING. You'll see some of the most impatient, rude, mean, blind and stupid people. For example, they'll start honking when you stop and try to let pedestrians cross. Heck, some will be honking to tell you to move even when the green light is not even on.

I just copied and pasted my response to a Pet Peeves thread that was started many moons ago. These things STILL torque me off.

Chewing food like you were born in a barnyard. Geez - if I wanted to wear what you were eating, I'd have ordered it my damned self - LOL!

People who blast their car radios with their windows wide open no matter what the season. I don't want to hear your shart stompin', head banging, fo shizzle poor excuse for music. I play back - I pop in my Johnny Cash tape and blast "I Walk the Line" as high as the volume will go - that usually earns me a hairy eyeball, a middle finger, a head shake or a quick roll up of the window.

People who use the excuse of walking their dog as an opportunity for Fido to shart in your nicely manicured lawn. Ughhhh. Chocolate Ex-Lax works great- dogs love it (and so do carpet cleaning companies)! Their owners, unfortunately, don't.

Those who bring their infants and toddlers to sporting events. Look - the thought is nice, your kid is really cute, but junior isn't going to understand what is going on, isn't going to remember it and why make our lives and experience miserable because you can spend $14.00 on two beers but can't spend $20.00 on a sitter? I love babies, but I don't enjoy their screaming when I'm trying to enjoy the game!

Sucking your own fingers when eating. My God - do you HAVE to get every single last drop?? I'd prefer you stick your face in the bowl and slurp it up rather than seeing (and hearing) you slurping your fingers - that's nasty!

Putting your fingers in my plate and helping yourself to my food - damn it - ask and you shall receive! I'm a softie, honestly I am, but that could earn you a forked finger.

People who stand in the middle of an aisle at a store or sporting event to BS. (Usually happens to me in the candy aisle at the store. I'm on to them - while they're pretending to chit-chat, they're eyeing up the goodies and deciding which 10 bags they're going to hide in their cart so the hubby doesn't see it - LOL!) Moooooooove on over, please?

Drivers who tailgate and flash their lights at me while I'm in the right lane on an interstate, going the speed limit or a bit above, thinking it is going to make me risk getting a ticket so they can get to their bar or peep show or wherever the heck they're in such a hurry to get to. Sorry Bullwinkle - that usually has the opposite effect and hey - did you ever hear of the passing lane?

Going into a public restroom (this happens a lot at PNC and HF) and finding out after it's too late that the toilet paper dispenser is empty. I know, I know - look before you sit, but sometimes when you gotta go, you just gotta go and you assume that the ignoramus who used the last piece would have the common courtesy to let the attendant or someone know. I'm religious about that myself.
