Why - are his paychecks bouncing?

Joey was a great Steeler and worthy of being regarded fondly for those memories. But Porter's contract griping did not help the 2006 Steelers dynamic and Joey's threat to go off throughout 2007 if he did not get a contract deal to his liking pretty much sealed the deal that he would not be back.

Joey wanted a big deal contract more than anything else once he got a ring - be careful what you wish for or you might get it, just not in the package you expected the gift to be wrapped.

Good point. For three hours during 16 Sundays a year Joey feels bad (and I bet his bad days are a lot better than mine), and the other 8712 hours a year, he lives a life that most of us couldn't even imagine.

Farg Joey Porter and his multi-million dollar cash grab. If he really wanted to win, he could have taken a pay cut and stayed with the Steelers.

Pay cut? I think the Steelers front office realized last year his days were done. So no way they would have even offered a pay cut to him in order to stick around.

Another good point. There are plenty of teams that were in a better position to win then the Dolphins. I'm sure that most or all of them would have been happy to sign Joey for, oh, I don't know, say maybe 8 million?

i seem to remember porter saying " thier offer was a non offer" but now he's saying he was never made an offer?

Oh, the Steelers made an offer. They said stay for what you are worth and win. He said......well, we all know what he said.

remember how great the show seinfeld was? how every actor on that show was hillarious! do you remember what happened after the show ended ?? how all the (supporting) actors started their own sitcoms? it just wasn't ever gonna be as funny as the seinfeld show was it?

that's what joey porter is, and always will be. a supporting part in a great show that is now over (for him anyway)

when i hear joey guaranteeing wins for the dauphins, it sounds like michael richards swearing at the hecklers in some dark, unknown, smoke-filled comedy club.

you kinda feel bad for him, but not that much!

No, I think it was Faneca that said "the offer" was a "non offer". I don't think Porter was given a shot at coming back.

I liked Porter when he was here but am also glad he is gone. His play has greatly diminished.

Porter never griped about his contract which I give him credit for unlike Hines Ward and Faneca. Porter played out his contract and moved on like a man. He could have held out like Ward or publicly whined like Faneca but he didn't. I don't know what you are talking about?????????
