Broncos WR Marshall arrested on suspicion of DUI

ENGLEWOOD - Denver Police say Broncos wide receiver Brandon Marshall was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence early Monday morning.


Police say Marshall was pulled over in downtown Denver shortly after 2 a.m. His arrest came hours after the Broncos defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 31-to-28 in Denver.

Marshall was released and issued a summons.

Broncos team officials said they were aware of the arrest but had no comment.

According to a report on HBO's "Real Sports," Marshall and his cousin were partying on New Year's Eve and reportedly started a confrontation with suspected gang members. Those people are accused of later shooting and killing Broncos cornerback Darrent Williams.

That part of the article REALLY ticks me off... From what I remember, the WHOLE story was that they stepped in to PROTECT someone... and it escalated. They were acting PROPERLY in that situation.

HBO Real Sports is a pretty responsible show - initial reports of other Broncos acting positively might have been (I do not claim to know what happened that night) local media happy talk to put the best spin on a tragedy
