I really dislike that stereotype of younger steelers fans. I wasn't alive for the 70's, 80's, and even for some of the 90's, but when have you heard me talk down about the steelers... i think the same applies for some of the other younger guys around here... its only a few bandwagoners who give a whole generation of fans a bad name.. Especially because the good fans are more notable than the bad ones.

I know for fact in SF I have never said a negative word about BC..... I like most here did not want him to leave...I had a lump in my stomach all day during his last press conference...
I'm one of those people that don't like alot of change...I'm conservative.... BC was a great coach...loved his fire....even if the Burgh Beat writers hated him

Change is good when it comes to coaching. 10 -12 years is the max IMO before the story just gets too old. I think BC is a casuality of that. I loved Cowher but he stayed one year too long. Still better than Noll who overstayed by 10 years. Remember the 80's?? Kind of a blurr for me. We had an "all time" guard named Tunch??.................. lol, I remember Tunch, its the "all time" part I'm a bit foggy on.

Same here. I always liked Cowher till then. Judgement is still out there on him if ya ask me. If he takes a HC job next season outside of the Carolina Panthers, then Cowher is nothing but a liar. But I appreciate every year he was with us minus 2006.

my problem with cowher ,was kordell stewart !!! why he stuck with that P.O.S. for that long is beyond me...it was quite obvious for many years that QB was the missing piece of the puzzle, but yet year after year , we watched that dung pile throw our season into defenders hands !!!!

How many games did Mr. Cowher win in Pittsburgh?
Now..... How many wins have the Detroit Lions or Cleveland Browns have in the time of Cowhers' era here in Pittsburgh? I loved Cowher and I hated to see him go, but it seems as if the Rooney's have found a nice successor in Tomlin ![]() |

I loved cowher as a coach...
Every man has his short-comings. We could sit here and list them off... my top one would be the leash he put on the Defense and offensive coordinators. Take that leash off, and we may have been to a few more SB's. However, take that leash off, and we may have not made the playoffs. You always have to weigh the total of the coach or player... and when Cowher is weighed on such a scale... He comes out as an excellent coach for Pittsburgh. I am comfortable just leaving it there. |
