James Butler is the most underrated Safety in the game. He plays for Minnesota in Madden 07. He has pretty decent cover skills, but he really has a nose for the ballcarrier. Other than him, drafting a guy in the 3rd round or so isn't a bad idea. I've found some gems over the years.

Day 1: Notable moves - made Dan Kreider starting fullback, signed Verron Haynes and made him the starting 3rd down back (Davenport remains 2nd RB on the roster to spell Parker)

Traded Faneca and a 4th rounder to Arizona for Bryant Johnson.

Simulated my first season (Always do)

Drafted a guard in the first round and made him the starter for pre-season.

Also drafted a tackle (RD2), center (RD3), corner (RD 5) and used remaining picks on wide outs hoping to find a surprise...

That is it as of now.

and btw im in franchise too but only for 07 i really love it and plus i always go on rookie and score a bajillion points... u dont get any better but its very fun

They used to get generated names (Fake ones) but now with online being so big I think there is a possibility they add the real names through live but i don't know.

i knew someone would say something about that lol... It was down to Billick or Green... I didn't want Billick for a few obvious reasons :P - Even in a game I was afraid he would make my offense into an enigma.

If you actually import the rosters from the NCAA game, then they will be just numbers, that is unless you go to a website such as digitalsportsmania.com, download them and load them into NCAA.

Madden 08 apparently has a pretty big bug in the franchise mode this year in which the game freezes because of some issue with the free agent pool. EA's supposed to release a patch for it, but has not as of yet.

I think there's some kind of legal issue with using the real names of college players. So they set it up so it can be customized, and the fans can change "QB15" to "Matt Flynn". By allowing files to be imported, they let some awesome person do the hack and post it onthe Internet for free.

i have 08 for the ps3 and always do franchise. i was in year 2011 and had to start all over. oh well. but here's a way to make sure you draft the best rookies. some may call it cheating. but i've done it for years now.

step 1. turn off the trade deadline at start of new franchise
step 2. trade your 1st pick to the worst team at the end of week 17, before the playoffs, you can get their 1st, #1 overall and their 3rd usually.
step 3. trade whatever picks you need to get the #2 pick, you can sometimes even get a late 1st rounder in addition
step 4 finish the season and SAVE IT!
step 5 go through the whole off season, SIM IT, and stop before preseaon, DON'T SAVE IT!
step 6 go into the rosters and write down all the best rookies names, stats and ratings etc..
steo 7 go into draft recap and look for those guys and see what # they got drafted write it down, quit season WITHOUT saving it.
step 8 start season again, it'll start from the start of the offseason
step 9 go to the draft with the #1 and #2 picks and you can draft the 2 best or trade down to get other guys who went later in the 1st. if you trade picks you can end up with 4 1st rounders sometimes. the guys usually get drafted in the same spots give or take a few.

the 1 time i had the #1,#2, #8, #11 picks. i ended up getting 4 rookies with 75 to 80 ratings. and my drafting was done and my team getting stacked. imagine after 3 seasons how many good-great players you get. it takes awhile to do it but i like it. i have a chart with the players names, position, ov rating, speed, strength, etc....

This isn't my thread but I traded Haggans a free Agent RG and my 3rd round pick to the Bungholes for some crappy guy and Mucho Gayo.

I wanted to see how he was.
Most likely use as trade bait.
