I agree Russell could be a great 2nd string Running back, he was was Maroney's back up at Minnesota and has talent. He just needs time to learn the system.
Najeh isn't good enough to carry the load for an entire season, he is a good back up for what it is, late in games, to kill clock with a huge lead, not to get needed yards to put a game away. I'd still like to see what Ray Rice from Rutgers could do in our offense. I'll cross my fingers on draft day and watch intently where he goes. That guy is a monster. |

I think it is unfair to rag on hampton on not getting any pass rush. There running game was no where near what everyone thought it was going to be and a large part has to be credited to Hampton.
People are saying Najeh looked like a carear back up.... well guess what HE IS he is not a starter in this league. He is a good complement to willie but Nothing more. He cant to the outside corner at all those sweep we were running he was just to slow

I think Hampton did his job well most of the year and was worn down from taking a beating at the end of the season because the offensive linemen that would normally have to keep an eye on Aaron Smith, now could disengage from that assignment and double up on Hampton, while the Right tackle took on the replacement one on one. Aaron was drawing a lot of double teams which freed up Casey inside.
