I think OSU can go undefeated and still miss out on the National Championship game. A one loss team from the SEC should get more votes than an undefeated big ten school. The big ten has fallen behind the big 12.

Best Conferences

SEC
Big 12
Big 10
Pac
Big east
ACC

If the Buckeyes finish undefeated, they will most likely have beaten at least 5 top 25 teams (Michigan, Penn State, Wisconsin, Illinois and USC), perhaps more, and at least 4 of those teams could potentially be top 10 teams when they play (USC will be, Wiscy and Illinois should be and PSU could be). The rumors of the Big Ten's demise are greatly overstated...

4 teams in the top 10 you gotta be kidding me. You had 3 teams finish in the AP top 25 last year. 1 team in the top ten, 1 team at 18, and one at 24. Thats a great confenrence if i ever saw one. SEC had LSU and UGA finish 1 and 2. The big 12 had 4 teams in the top ten, ACC had 2 teams in the top ten, Big East, PAC, and Big ten had 1 team each. So speaking from stats only the Big ten could be considered the worst confenrence in the BCS. Oh yeah, Ohio State is what 0 and 9 vs the SEC.

1. LSU (60) 12-2 1,620
2. Georgia (3) 11-2 1,515
3. USC (1) 11-2 1,500
4. Missouri 12-2 1,347
5. Ohio State 11-2 1,346
6. West Virginia 11-2 1,342
7. Kansas (1) 12-1 1,303
8. Oklahoma 11-3 1,139
9. Virginia Tech 11-3 1,096
10. Texas 10-3 962
10. Boston College 11-3 962
12. Tennessee 10-4 904
13. Florida 9-4 685
14. Brigham Young 11-2 654
15. Auburn 9-4 648
16. Arizona State 10-3 587
17. Cincinnati 10-3 566
18. Michigan 9-4 508
19. Hawaii 12-1 460
20. Illinois 9-4 443
21. Clemson 9-4 353
22. Texas Tech 9-4 308
23. Oregon 9-4 253
24. Wisconsin 9-4 202
25. Oregon State 9-4 110

honestly number 4 mu and number 7 Ku had 1 good yr and were actually ranked higher than 20.. so i rly doubt i can call the big 12 the best conf so far.. u only have texas and ou who are a competitor evry yr.. i would say that sec is prob the best conf right now w/ lsu and georgia.. but we have to wait and see

I give it to the SEC too. Just tired of all the old how great the big 10 talk is. The Big 12is leaps and bounds above the Big 10. I would not sell MU short, espn has the tigers #5 in their 2008 college football ranking and the and texas tech at 12.

Last year? What does that have to do with next year? USC and Wisky almost certainly WILL be top 10 teams. Wisconsin is a sleeper NC contender. Illinois is a vastly improved program, and they get leaps and bounds better year to year. I don't think it's outside the realm of possibility for another Big Ten team to sneak into the top 10, especially since they only need to be top 10 when the Buckeyes beat them to get quality win status.

It is en vogue currently to bag on the Big Ten, but, as I stated, rumors of the conferences demise are greatly overstated....

Oh, as for the 0-9 record, there's a pretty good reason for that. Most of thoise games were played when the Bucks were lower ranked (recent games notwithstanding), and the Buckeyes don't schedule cream puff games against Vandy and the like...fact is, outside Tennessee, the power teams in the SEC refuse to accept home/home games with the Bucks...and they've asked.
