this article fails to address that heath miller and santonio holmes will easilly command $6 and $7-8 mil/year (respectively) on the open market when their deals are up.

we had to let faneca go to deal with troy and ben. similar decisions will be made in the near future. sweed and hills proving they can be starters will go a long way in making these decisions and possibly give some leverage where ward and m. smith are concerned.

ward, smith, starks and simmons are eating up almost $28 million of cap this year. theres alot that can be done with that cap space.

this is what im looking at for the future (in this order)-

holmes and miller with expensive, fair market deals.

mcfadden, colon, and anthony smith with fair extensions that they will most likely outpreform.

that will still leave money for a few of our free agents if they take a slightly reduced rate. (farrior, hines, smith)

I know, I know, I'm an idiot for "never questioning the FO" or whatever, but they seem to be doing OK over the last 30 years or so, so I'm going to continue to put my trust in the FO. I think we will all be pleasantly surprised by some emerging talent this year, and some guys who have been oft maligned will step up and produce, too.

IMO Parker stays if he bounces back and remains healthy...Farrior is getting older and Timmons is ready to go now.. Sometimes change is necessary.

if the rooies from the past two seasons perform we won't have to worry about some players leaving

I'm talking about mcbean, baker, gay, davis, humpal, mundy. not to mention the early round players who should be great.

they have potential, they may be the future. or at least I hope

I don't think there is a quesiton about Parker.

Like I said... broken bone. Not joints, not muscles, not tendons. It is healed.... and over.

I love fast Willie, but this is a business and I think that we all know this. I think eventually if Mendenhall evolves like they hope that he will then the writting is on the wall by next season or the next at the latest. Meanwhile, I am gonna sit back and enjoy the view baby!!!
