I envy you bro. I wish I could be there.

Excellent job! PLEASE keep it coming as this info is MUCH appreciated!

I am very happy to hear that Hartwig is doing a good job.
Is Woodley going to be the steal of the draft or what?

I AM SOOOO READY!

GO STEELERS!

Thanks..... I think over the next few years we are going to have the best set of backers we have had since the days of Lloyd, Greene, Kirkland and Brown..

Oh, the o'line. Well, some hopeful sign in Hartwig. If they run block well and we get better overall play from center it will at least be an improvement.

Not sold on Willie Reid yet. I seem to remember kudos last year for his catches /work at TC and then nothing. I still don't think he will make the team.

man, i am so freaking pumped, i cant even get through reading the 3rd post. thanks for taking all the time to share this with us. greatly appreciated (especially for us who may never see a pro camp).

thats great news about willie reid. i know his returns sucked but his receiving skills were never that bad. id hate to see a 3rd round pick who seems to be a good guy get pissed away. i hope he eans a spot (even if its at the expense of bloom or baker).

i like hearing that about fox an mcbean on ST.

did max starks do anything right?

harrison and woodley sound unstopable. and to think they only have 1 year starting experience between them. could it possibly be "quiver and quake" vol. II ???

timmons and mendenhall are still so young. it sounds like they may be steelers for a looong time. possibly future faces of the franchise.

i really liked the potential spaeth showed as a rookie. sounds like he continues to improve.

seems like hartwig will win the job fairly easy.

thanks again vrabinec. i hope you continue these updates.

woodley will be a nightmare for offenses

glad to hear about fox, he was brought in as a special teamer, and seems to be doing the job

Quote:
- 5th play: The offense tries to dump it out into the flat to Spaeth, but Timmons is there just as the ball arrives with great reaction, and puts a lick on Spaeth just to let him know he’s there. Timmons is quietly letting the offense know to stay away from his side.
the defense certainly needs more of this attitude

- 10th play: Marvel stones Keisel and Ben has some nice time to throw a 15 yard out to Ward. At this point, I can confidently say that Marvel is back.
great!! we need ben's blind side safe

OK, Marvel looks to be back in great form. Good to hear and something I was hopeful of.

Dez Sherrod looks good, I also hoped that he would be the 3rd TE on the squad and get some time as the goal line FB.

Woodley is gonna be a revelation this season...big thick guy with great athleticism and most will be surprised that he will become a defensive leader this season and defensive captain by next season....mark it down.

Carey Davis had a good block...that honestly shocked me. Hope he improves, but still think he is a weak link on the team.

I really enjoyed reading this.

Love to hear that about Reid. Also enjoyed hearing about Woodley AND TIMMONS.

Line is a bit scary.. but we knew it was. Did enjoy the read about Hartwig.

Kinda hard to read anything into this though... IT is only the first day!!

One preemptive strike before I get to the meat and bones of this, realize that this is the first practice of the year, if I say someone isn’t playing well, it’s just an observation on this particular practice. So don’t get your panties in an uproar because I say something derogatory about “your guy”.
Good call.

Thanks a lot for the update!

It sounds like we have an exceptional pass rush and a worse than average pass blocking line, because more than half the pass plays, a defender gets in and completely blows up the play.

I'm really worried about the pass blocking right now.
