I think there is a possiblity that again we keep a Punt return Specialist.

The 5wr's will be Ward, Holmes, Washington, Sweed, (probably Baker) and either Bloom, Reid, Drummond as the returner.

Gotta ask yourself though...if nobody wanted Drummond when camps opened....does he really have anything left??

While that's a good question generally, I think the more valid statement would be, "Is he better than what we've got?" In other words, yes. I don't think Reid will ever pan out to be a good KR in the NFL, and the only place he'll earn a roster spot is at pure WR. Moore returns kicks, yes, but he's by no means flashy, just capable. Mendenhall, I have no idea, but the very sound of it gives me goosebumps... And Jeremy Bloom? Who knows?

Unless someone explodes in camp, I wouldn't mind at all seeing Drummond returning kicks. He doesn't fumble, and he's better than what we've had last year or the year before, or the year before...or...

I think it's a good signing. If he doesn't turn out, no big loss on the organization's part. The FO pretty much knows what they're doing.

I don't think it will hurt to have the depth at the position who knows what might happen like someone said if he don't pan out then what have we lost unlike rossum we gave up a draft pick.

To replace Dookie, of course. A third down back with the "flexibility" to return kicks.
The ability to take on multiple roles on a roster is a premium with a 53 man max. Although he is considered an option for returns, I don't think he knocked anyones socks off. Drummond is just an option to stir competition.

Holmes
Ward
Washington
Sweed - possibly 3 after a few weeks.
Drummond? Reid seems to be getting a little chippy in TC. I think he knows his time is near the end...On this team anyway.

I think we only keep 5, with 4 active game day. We need more depth elsewhere.imo.

Hopefully he doesn't get injured and plays well enough to get Ried cut.
