Steelers vs. Eagles Gameday Thread 9/21/08

I didn't bother reading all 95 pages of the thread so here are my thoughts and sorry if I ruffle some feathers here: Where do I start here? The ONLY thing that worked somewhat was our defense.
At least we got a couple of turnovers and a few sacks on McNabb. I do praise
Troy P. for at least TRYING to put in an effort. Nice INT by Troy. BMac did a
nice job on the INT also. Ike Taylor...I got to shake my head. He wants to be a
shut down corner? I don't know if he will be one. He has yet to consistantly
come up big. He should have made that play. At least the defense kept the
Eagles from scoring more than 15 points.

Special Teams were not that special. Just barely passable.

Now, our so called offense. What offense? Horrible. Sure, you can credit (or
blame,whatever) the Eagles' incredible pass rush and defense, but good grief.
A certain party wanted playmakers and the team placated him by getting Sweed
and Mendenhall and did not fix the REAL PROBLEM which is the damned O LINE and
this is what you get. The O line got exposed BAD. BAD. Horrible performance
by the O LINE. This was embarrassing. NINE SACKS? Are you freaking kidding
me? We could not RUN the damned ball. We could not pass. We could not do
shit. Now,the O line is not all to blame, I am sorry to say because our
freaking QUARTERBACK would not THROW THE DAMNED BALL AWAY on several occasions
where I thought he could have. Now is he EVER GONNA LEARN TO DO THAT? There
were at least 4 times he SHOULD HAVE thrown it away but nope, Big Ben has to
try to be HERO and make a play every freaking time ala Farve! Throw it away
Ben. Are we surprised he wound up DINGED? We shouldn't be. Like Tomlin said
post game, all eleven of them are responsible for protecting the QB, including
BEN. Ben needed to get his head out of his ass. at least Leftwich got the
ball down field.

Washington needs to learn how to catch the damned ball. Hines at least caught
it.

I hope things get better, offensively especially.


Let's hope that Ben is not badly injured and we can dust ourselves off and get ready for the Ratbirds

one positive is the play of McFadden and i think he should be the starter for the remainder of the season

and not to mention. the FO should throw away the policy of not negotiating during the season and give the man an extension.

My condolences to you PA dwelling guys and gals who will have to put up with the jabs and barbs from iggle fans as you return to work or school tomorrow. I don't catch much grief down here in FLA. Hell, most people around here don't even know who the Steelers played, much less the results. Plus, they'll all be basking in the glow of bumping off the Colts.

Couple of positives: (1) the iggs aren't in our division (2) the iggles aren't in our conference so this is a loss that doesn't do too much damage.

The "O" Line has to get it together. I've seen Glimpses of Crap the last 3 seasons with a Breakdown in the Line.
