Till Mods come back...

Hey...

it seems that the spam bots have started hitting again...

Until one of the mods logs in... Why don't we all work to report the spam.... AND THEN type something so that it is reported... and not every reports everything so that the mods have to wade through 50 reports!!!!

Just a thought to make their job a bit easier!!!

We really appreciate you alerting us to SPAM when we aren't on the board. Most of them strike in the wee hours of the morning when they know the Mods aren't around. We have a helluva mess to clean up every morning now and our members' help is a true bonus!

What Marianne said - and although we're trying to nail them as quickly as possible, some of them still get through and a few of them are posting downright disgusting pics. We apologize in advance for these that do get through in the middle of the night.

It's surprising how many there are, especially considering the site is no longer accepting free email accounts for registration

but you mods are doing an excellent job, keep it up.

and I'll keep an eye out for spammers during the night

Thanks for the support and kind words, Duke - we really do appreciate it!

There must be a problem with the software or the server itself, as these spammers and bots are getting through with several of the free email domains out there. Don't know how that is possible, but it's happening.

In 3 days, Gary and I have probably booted over 175 spammers and bots, as well as SPAM and porno from the site. Mike must be on an extended vacation or something - we just keep trying to contact him but thus far, no reply. Actually, I'm getting worried - this just isn't like him.

I'm a global mod on another forum, it sucks to spend 30 minutes deleting posts, even with spam filters they still get through.

I think a few of us on the west coast may agree to be "spam mods"

That is... only with the authority to ban spam accounts.

I know I could free 15 minutes of time before I go to bed to do that.
