Default Alexei Cherepanov Dies at 19

Wow a top draft pick and a player worth watching passes away at the young age of 19. How sad.

Wow, I'm just shocked...19 years old - hell, the kid never had a chance to even have a life and career, and just like that, it's all over.

RIP, Alexei.

I read that he was in ICU once I came home. Then next thing I know TSN had the report he was dead. Wow how sad.. only 19? Imagine how this will effect Jagr who reportedly elbowed him during a line change when he didn't see him. Alexei or Cherry as they call him admired Jagr.. My condolences go out to his family.

He was burried today... He was very talented player and in Russia he was expected to be Someone like Ovechkin or Kovalchuk. I'm from Moscow - Omsk is too far away from me and I'm not the one who likes this team, but the thing that happened is terrible and like lots of Russians I was crying during these days.

Just to let you know - I don't know if this was said in your news. He was healthy - all tests were saying that his heart was perfect. He died due to our standard russian problem - stupidity. Embulance left the area of the stadium (it should be there all the time during the game by league rules) before the end of the game. When they called ER to send the car they sent two of them one was just a simple ambulance that was not equipped normally - the second one was emergency but they didn't have the electroshock (I do not know the correct word in English, but I think you understand what I mean) with them. So they couldn't start his heart with the usual way for our century.... This situation could've been solved like it was with Fisher... But...

R.I.P. Alexey... you were too young fo this...

PS Thank you for your condolences, afaik his parents know that the whole world is with them

What a terribly tragic end to such a promising young life. God had other plans for Alexei and he's in a much better place now.

Condolences go out to his family, friends and teammates. RIP Alexei.
