Default So what about A. Smith?

I was listening on ESPN to Tomlin...

and he specifically mentioned A. Smith (as well as Carter) in coming in and playing a good game.

I wonder if it will help Smith? Does it light a fire under him to play better and smarter?

if he desnt want carter to get an extension, maybe it does.

carter had a good game. when called upon he is reliable 8 out of 10 times.

i still think carter is too slow to be relied on.. i think smith deserves a chance at some more playing time.. of course i want clark back there for 100% of the plays, but in the mean time.. i'd like to see what smith can do.

I'm not sure how many more years Carter has left. He's never been an elite talent, and will soon be 30 years old, so I doubt that he'll be re-signed as anything but a veteran backup.

Not sure about Smith, though. I only saw him on D a few times, but he was around the ball. He looked to be getting into a few special teams plays though.
