Cardinals?? Makes NO sense.
Now some team names make NO SENSE what so ever.
How many lakes are in L.A.? When was the last time the Detroit fooball team looked like Lions? BUt would SOME ONE PLEASE EXPLAIN TO ME THE CARDINALS? WHAT?  I JUST DONT GET IT.

They were the St Louis Cardinals and before that they were the Chicago Cardinals. I am surprised that they did not change their name along the way.

Chicago Cardinals makes sense because the Cardinal is the state bird of IL!
Can Cardinals even survive that AZ heat? haha they definitely should have changed the name |

I moved to AZ from CT back in 2001, and was instantly surprised by the number of Cardinals that dwell in the Sonoran Desert...
No need for a name change at all!
