Go to your user control panel (see up at the top.....it says "user CP"). Then click on "edit avatar" and pick one out. That's the easiest way to start out until you learn a little more about computers.
If you've figured uploading and downloading pictures, you can create your own avatar from a favorite picture at this site. That's how I did mine. http://www.shrinkpictures.com/create-avatar/
