I heard their was an international law (WTF is that anyway?) stating that no weapons are allowed on these vessels. That needs to be changed!

The crews on private ships are not Navy or Marine, nor are they trained that way.

International law overrides the Constitution according to the Obama administration. The laws everyone is subject to no matter where your at.

The problem is you can't just start arming merchant ships and then expect a country to allow them into their trading ports-of-call...

"Don't mind that big 50mm cannon on the bow...it's just for protection. Honest."

Would we (the US) want some ship from the Mid-East (or anywhere else, for that matter) coming into one of our ports and docking there when it has big guns on it?

Misinterpreting things is a great way to make an argument!

International law is exactly that, a communion between many nations (US included) on rules we'll abide by.

The Constitution is for ourselves, and only ourselves. How silly to think the Constitution applies to Somolia/International Waters.
