I figured it would be a good time to bump this.

<--- Hossa.

You picked the WRONG TEAM!

There was a discussion about 20 minutes after the Cup presentation tonight at my friend's house.

Two of them said they would gladly have Hossa back if the opportunity presented itself.

I interjected...

Sleep in the bed you've made, Marian. The Wings' dynasty is over. I would NEVER want that POS back on the Penguins.

I would be furious is Shero saw it otherwise. The whole situation is bad enough... The fact that we basically lost Malone is even more infuriating.

Malone? In a heartbeat. Hossa? Absolo-freaking-lutely not.

Considering how Hossa was a bust for Detroit in the playoffs, the Dead Things may want to take that 7 year contract of the table. His value went down after his poor performance in the finals.

I could imagine what he was feeling like when they were shaking hands last night. I should have stayed with the Pens.

Didn't know they offered him a 7-year deal. Where the hell are they going to get the money? They just re-signed Franzen to an 11-year deal and re-upped Zetterberg for big money earlier in the season. They're still paying Datsyuk and Lidstrom a pretty penny, and I believe Filppula got an extension as well. If they end up signing Hossa, they will significantly weaken other areas, guaranteed. My guess is he ends up in Edmonton, and I wouldn't be shocked if the Hab-nots and, sadly for you, the Leafs come calling. There better not be any calls from Ray Shero - I'm with Crushzilla in that I don't want that piece of playoff underperforming garbage back. He just proved this year that last postseason was a fluke.

Here is a link to the reported 7- year deal (ESPN reported it first)

In my view, let Detroit sign and keep the overrated piece of crap, mostly because he will handcuff the Red Wings in terms of the salary cap.

I highly doubt the Maple Leafs will be interested in Hossa and vice versa. Hossa won't win a cup in Toronto any time soon as they are rebuilding. Plus with Brian Burke running the show, it's no secret that he wants the Sedin twins to come to Toronto. And the following season, Rick Nash and Roberto Luongo are unrestricted free agents. Nash is the type of player Burke wants. Hossa did himself no favours with that craptastic finals performance.

Let it go. Hossa had every right to make the "wrong choice"....just as we all do in life. Some here act like a high school girl who got jilted on prom night.

Not signing him freed up the money to bring in other players that we wouldn't have been able to sign. Theres no guarantee whatsoever that we would have won the cup had he stayed. Considering the way things worked out he did us a favor with his decision.
