This is awful. McNair was one of my favorite players even though I never liked the teams he played for. He never got the credit he deserved on or off the field (he did a lot for the Coast after Katrina).

I honestly can't believe it. I don't think I've ever heard of anything in his personal life that was questionable and could have led to this, if it is in fact a murder-suicide. What a damn shame.

I always hated when we played this guy. He always seemed like an achilles heal to the Steelers.

May he rest in peace.

Saw on another board it's a double homicide. Maybe another Sean Taylor situation.

It's all rumor until the cops can figure out what happened.

right now they know the 20 year old woman they found dead was a lady who mcnair has been seeing (she's his girlfriend).

its not known if she or he was the murderer.

what is known is that mccnair is a gun owner and known to have them in his car (i think they were both found dead in a vehicle not to far from the appt complex he/she lived at?)

all per sirius.

if it was a double homicide, early reports are that it was made to look like a murder/suicide.

this could mean nothing more than the gun was left behind in one of the victims hands.

either way it sucks he went out like this.

Hard to believe he was only 36...seems like he has been around longer.

Very sad.

This is insane. I hope this wasn't a suicide, for what it's worth.

I seem to remember his being arrested on a DUI/Illegal possession of a firearm charge several years ago....and also a seperate incident in which he was arrested for a DUI in which he was the passenger...due to a strange state law that said if the driver is drunk and the registered owner is in the vehicle, the owner can also be charged.

I will check and see...maybe it was the same incident.
