back on topic, Ohio and PA are a hotbed for great recruits. Those 2 states along with texas, florida and cali are the tops by far

Pretty Much a great deal of the South is. The Carolinas especially.

Penn State managed to pick up a Linemen from NC for the 09 recruiting class.

I still dispute that claim. We have had many in this area that PSU has never looked at and have gone on to great things.

That's because the recruit more WPIAL talent within their borders. Though I saw a couple of Selinsgrove players last year I wouldn't mind wearing the Blue and White of Penn State.

Btw, by close to home, I mean the District 6 neighborhood. Penn State just picked up a kid that goes to State College(In fact they picked up 2 the other one is Jordan Norwood's brother, he moved after his dad got a job at Baylor).

thats nothing...maryland had steve slaton inked and pulled his scholarship...

He visited Maryland as a junior, mulled over other schools -- including West Virginia -- and jumped when the Terrapins' staff offered a scholarship.

"I committed; I was already there," Slaton recalled. "Upcoming program. They were pretty close to home. I liked my family coming to games, and that was a pretty big reason to go there."

i guess being from PA...penn state missed out as well
