Yep. I do think he has the tools. But he needs coaching and Lane Kiffin and Tom Cable aren't capable of developing him.

He was raw out of college, so you could expect him to be so-so till that got ironed out... But now? I mean I know he sat most of his first year, and didn't really play till last. And the coaching carousel in Oakland couldn't have helped matter. Nor the wide receivers dropped the few catchable passes.

At what point does he turn? If ever?

And Ive read you guys are chanting "Russell Sucks! Russell Sucks!" at games.

Word is Kiffin didn't want to take Russell, and now we all know why.

Russell sucks and I don't think he's smart enough to read a defense or understand the playbook. It's been said that they Raiders only have 20% of their offensive playbook available to use because that's all he can digest.

JR is so bad, I wouldn't even want him as an emergency third string QB. How the hell did he dupe so many people into thinking that he was worthy of being the first overall pick? He's got a rocket launcher for an arm, but that's all.

Just another example of Al Davis becoming infatuated with a guy because of one game. We all know how well that tends to work out. The Raiders seriously could be 3-0 if they'd started Garcia instead of him. Yes, I'm aware they lost to Denver by 20, but Russell really is about a 20-point-a-game difference maker. He singlehandedly keeps the whole offense in check.

I'm guessing he's pretty much screwed. He won't improve as long as Al Davis is in charge in Oakland, and he won't get another chance somewhere else.

I don't see any quarterback being successful in that situation. Ben, Peyton, or Marsha would look terrible with the Raiders. The entire organization is in shambles, and it's sad to see.
